Cheryl Hazan Gallery is proud to present For the Senses, the debut exhibition of artist James Gager, the celebrated creative visionary whose work has helped shape the visual identity of many major global companies. This marks Gager's first-ever public exhibition of his personal artwork—an immersive body of work that blurs the boundaries between photography, painting, collage, and sculpture.
Composed from hundreds of photographs captured through Gager's instinctive eye for the unexpected, each piece begins with moments and details that he finds visually compelling in everyday life. These images are layered, manipulated, reconstructed, and refined through an entirely original process until arriving at their final form.
The resulting works are dynamic compositions made from strips of photography, collage elements, paint, and, at times, neon. Gager's technique, which is uniquely his own, defies categorization and introduces a visual language unlike anything else in contemporary art.
The works evolve organically from the materials and imagery available to the artist. The finished pieces possess an almost three-dimensional quality, inviting viewers into a deeply reflective and immersive experience.
Every work is entirely unique, carrying its own rhythm, texture, and emotional presence.
Through this inaugural exhibition, James Gager reveals a deeply personal artistic practice rooted in observation, experimentation, and transformation—offering audiences a rare opportunity to experience the mind of a creative force in its purest form.
